I just received a call from a donor who had pledged a monthly donation of $50 for 12 months. I set her up with a pledge of $600, and applied her recurring donations to that pledge.
She went in to try to change the date of her donation, and noticed the $600 amount in there. She freaked out and checked her bank account to be sure that $600 hadn't been taken out of her account, then called me to see what was going on. I explained the situation, and she understood.
To see what she was seeing, I put a dummy $100 pledge on my own constituent account and logged in to see what it looks like. Sure enough, it looks just like any other donation, until I click on "Transaction Details" and see that 0 has been paid on my $100 pledge.
The "transaction details" are pretty "fine print" to donors. Many of just look at the list, where "SUCCEED" is next to each amount, regardless of whether it's a pledge or donation. At the very least, I wonder if the word "PLEDGE" could replace "SUCCEED" next to a pledge on the main donation screen?
