Exporting Data from DonorPerfect

NOTE: This guide includes export instructions for the most common data in this system. You may be using additional modules or storing additional data that is not discussed here, but will need to be exported in order to import into your new NeonCRM system. Please consult the documentation of your current database for more information.

Introduction

The best way to export your data from DonorPerfect is to use the Listings feature. This feature will allow you export multiple types of data that you will need for import into NeonCRM, such as donor and donation information.

Main/Bio Listing

  • Click Reports, then Listings
  • Under Step 1) Select a Report, select the final option, Export to File
  • An Export Type box will appear to the right of 1) Select A Report
  • Select the Export Type of Main/Bio Data
  • In 2) Select Report Options, check the Include NO MAIL Names and Export to Excel (CSV) boxes
  • Leave all other boxes unchecked
  • Click the Export to File button
  • Choose the Save option to save the data file to your computer

Gift/Pledge Transactions Listing

  • Repeat the above steps, but select Gift/Pledge Transactions for the Export Type

Additional Listings

If you have tracked additional data in DonorPerfect, you may need to export additional Listings. For example, if you tracked donor notes, export the Other Info Transactions Listing. If you tracked multiple addresses, export the Other Address Transactions Listing.

You now have the data files that you need to import your data into NeonCRM. Remember, before you do your import, you must format your data appropriately by following our Preparing to Import Constituent Data guide.
