NeonCRM's Import Manager allows you to import multiple addresses for new accounts. The process for importing addresses is different depending on the format of your data.
Imports that do not include Account ID numbers
Imports that include Account ID numbers - one address per row
Imports that include Account ID numbers - multiple addresses per row
Imports that do not include Account ID numbers
This option is available if you are importing data without account IDs. With this option, you can have a single row that contains the data for both of the addresses that you wish to import, as seen below:
When your data does not include account IDs, you can import a maximum of two addresses to each account.
To begin your import, first navigate to Tools > Import Manager and click on New Import.
Provide a name for your import and enter No for the question Does your spreadsheet contain an Account ID column?
On Step 2, make sure the Accounts checkbox is selected, then click Save and Continue.
On Step 3.1, upload your .CSV file. For Does your spreadsheet have a header row?, select Yes. For How is your address data formatted?, select Each row contains one account and multiple addresses. Then click Upload data.
On the Import Column Mapping page, select New Mapping to continue.
On the next page, map the columns in your spreadsheet to the appropriate fields in NeonCRM. The fields for the second address begin with "Secondary." After doing so, click Continue.
On the Field Value Mapping page, confirm that NeonCRM has appropriately matched data options, then click Next.
On the next page, indicate if you would like to save your mapping for future use, then click Import your data.
You will then be notified that your accounts have been imported. Click on Go to the Imports list for more information.
In the Addresses section of the updated account(s), you will now see both addresses.
Imports that include Account ID numbers - one address per row
This option is only available if you are importing data with ID numbers. The ID numbers may be Neon Account IDs, if you are updating existing Neon accounts with new address information, or Account IDs from a different data system. More information on importing accounts with IDs from another system is available here. With this option, you can import each address on a separate line of your spreadsheet. Each row must contain the Account ID.
Include the Is Primary? column. This column indicates whether the address is the constituent's primary address (yes) or an additional address (no).
To begin your import, navigate to Tools > Import Manager and click on New Import.
In Step 1, provide a Title for your import. For Does your spreadsheet contain an Account ID column?, select Yes.
If you are using Neon Account ID numbers, select Yes for Are these account ID numbers from NeonCRM? and then select I am updating account information and/or importing new donations, event registrations, or membership transactions to existing accounts.
If you are using Account ID numbers from a different system, select No for Are these account ID numbers from NeonCRM. Then, select I am importing new accounts if the accounts in your spreadsheet are new to your NeonCRM system. If they are accounts that have been imported previously and you are simply updating the address information, choose I am updating account information and/or importing new donations, event registrations, or membership transactions to existing accounts.
If your account IDs are from another system, you'll be asked to provide a name for your external system.
On Step 3.1, upload your .CSV file. Select the appropriate options for your data for the header row, account type, and duplicate questions. For How is your address data formatted?, select Each account has multiple addresses. Each row contains a different address. Then click Upload data.
On the Import Column Mapping page, select New Mapping to continue. On the next page, select the column that contains your Account IDs. Click Next.
On the next page, map the columns in your spreadsheet to the appropriate fields in NeonCRM. Click Continue.
On the Field Value Mapping page, confirm that NeonCRM has appropriately matched data options, then click Next.
On the next page, indicate if you would like to save your mapping for future use, then click Import your data.
You will then be notified that the account data has been successfully imported/updated.
In the Addresses section of the account(s), you will now see all of the imported addresses.
Imports that include Account ID numbers - multiple addresses per row
Use this method if your data includes multiple addresses in the same row, but you also have Account ID numbers. The ID numbers may be Neon Account IDs, if you are updating existing Neon accounts with new address information, or Account IDs from a different data system. More information on importing accounts with IDs from another system is available here.
With this method, you have a single row that contains two or more addresses for the same account:
Because the Import Manager only allows import of one address per row when the import includes Account IDs, this method includes two separate imports, one for primary address and one for secondary addresses. The import can be repeated additional times to add additional addresses, if the data contains three or more addresses per account.
To begin your import, navigate to Tools > Import Manager and click on New Import.
