The best way to allow donors to select the campaign they are giving to is to have a campaign landing page.
Custom donation forms have several limitations.
However, it is possible to allow donors to select which campaign to contribute to on a custom form that accepts donations. Here's how:
- Navigate to Web Content > Custom Forms > New Custom Form.
- Select either Donation Free Input or Donation Levels for Support Payment.
- Drag the Campaign field onto the form.
- Select the Campaign field.
- Check the campaign options which should be available in the dropdown menu.
Continue editing the form & publish. When you view the form, there will be a dropdown that allocates the gift to a selected campaign.
If you want donations coming through a custom form to be auto-assigned to a campaign, drag in the campaign field.
You must also make sure to drag in the Amount or the Donation Levels field.
To auto-assign, the Hidden Field option must be checked and a campaign must be listed in the Default Hidden Campaign field. For this example, 2014 Campaign is listed in the Default Hidden Campaign field.
Once you have added your desired fields on to your Custom Campaign Donation Form, press the Save button.
When you are ready to go live with your new Custom Campaign Donation Page, click the Publish button.
When you go to the URL for your new Custom Campaign Donation Page, you will see that the Campaign field is not visible. Any donations made on this page will be automatically assigned to the Campaign that you have previously selected when you created this form.
After the constituent fills out your Custom Form, they will be taken to a secure payment page.
