Introduction

Your Inspire site includes Page Builder, a tool to help you design your pages and add unique features to each page. Below is an explanation of the options available and some of our favorite modules available.

Tip: Page Builder has a series of guides available to provide specific instruction on how to navigate this tool. These are extensive and can answer many specific questions relating to specific tools or modules.

Rows and Columns

Inspire sites are built based on the idea of Rows and Columns. A row is the width of the page and the number of rows on a page determines the length of a page. Each row is comprised of 1-6 columns, allowing for the content to be added in different blocks.

A row with 1 column appears like this:

Where as a row with 6 columns appears like this:

You can see in this example there are 6 spots for content, versus 1 spot in the example above.

Each page can have rows that include a variety of numbers of columns. This allows you to customize your site to your content and your goals. Once you have your rows and columns in place, you will add modules where you will add your content.

Basic Modules

The basic modules are primarily used to add text, buttons and photos to your page. You will want to hover your mouse over the module you would like to add, then drag and drop it onto the space you would like it to be used. Once you have added a module to your site, a new box will open for their specific settings for that module.

Advanced Modules

The advanced modules are what allow you to add unique features to your inspire site. This guide will not explain all the modules available, however, we will focus on a few of our favorite modules.

Accordion: As seen on this page, allows you to have a text box that expands. This is helpful where you have large quantities of text that you would like to include on a page. By placing some of that text in accordion, you make the page more readable and less overwhelming to the viewer.

Map: Allows you to add a Google Map to your site. This can be very helpful when you want to provide people with your location on your Contact Us page.

Number Counter: Creates an interactive counter that will allow you to graphically display numerical facts about your organization, as seen on this page. These can be used individually or you can combine multiple to share a variety of facts. The Countdown module might be an alternative, it will display an interactive countdown to a specific date.

Slideshow: Allows you to create a slideshow of images that will display on your site. This can be useful if you have a variety of images that you want display, but don't want to take up an entire page to do so. See this page as an example. If the slideshow isn't the style you are looking for, you may want to consider the Gallery module.

WordPress Widgets

Just as you can add Widgets to the footer of your site, you can also add those same Widgets to individual pages. We have an entire guide on Widgets available here: Using Widgets in your Inspire Website.

Saved Rows and Modules

When you build a module, you have the ability to save the configuration of that module to be used throughout your site. When you save a module you can choose to make it a global module. A global module will change throughout your site when you edit it. If you choose not to save as a global module, you can make individual changes each time you add the module to your page.
